Alternative Dispute Resolution

Alternative Dispute Resolution

Alternative dispute resolution allows all consumers to seek assistance from official entities to resolve or mediate conflicts. The Online Dispute Resolution website, managed by the European Commission, is an official platform dedicated to helping consumers and merchants resolve disputes out of court: https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/odr/main/index.cfm?event=main.home.chooseLanguage

Customers classified as consumers under Law 144/2015, who have entered into purchase and sale or service agreements, have the right to seek assistance from official entities for resolving disputes related to such agreements, without prejudice to their right to resort to Judicial Courts. An updated list of Alternative Dispute Resolution entities available under Article 17 of Law No. 144/2015, dated September 8, is provided on the Consumer Portal, accessible at www.consumidor.pt. For more information, you may also consult Law 144/2015.

Additionally, to address disputes arising from online purchases, you can use the EU-created “ODR Platform – Online Dispute Resolution,” a dedicated resolution system.

In any case, you may contact one of the centers listed below.
